Hollow Oak is looking for a student intern majoring in marketing, communications, writing, public relations or a related field. The role will involve mostly office work with possible work in the field to engage trail users and volunteers, depending on the needs and desires of the right candidate.
Hollow Oak Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1991 that protects and connects greenspace in the Pittsburgh Airport Corridor by acquiring and managing land for wildlife habitat, public recreation and environmental education. We own six conservation areas totaling over 400 acres in Moon, Kennedy, North Fayette, Robinson, and Franklin Park.
The Marketing & Communications Intern at Hollow Oak will be responsible for organizing, facilitating and implementing a variety of small-to-large projects requiring different levels of interpersonal, organizational and computer skills. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Assist with production of PR and marketing materials, such as press releases and brochures.
- Develop and implement communications strategies.
- Write and format content for the Hollow Oak monthly e-newsletter.
- Assist with targeted mailings to members and constituents.
- Use FTP and text editing software to update and maintain the Hollow Oak website.
- Post events and content to the Hollow Oak Facebook page.
- Update information in the Hollow Oak membership database.
- Assist with planning for volunteer events and outings at the Hollow Oak conservation areas.
- Represent Hollow Oak at outreach events.
- Assist with market research surveys.
